Region Story
Wate Processing Station was established in 2019 and is located in the Hambela area within the Guji region of Ethiopia. Although Hambela is part of Guji, it is only 75 kilometers from the Yirgacheffe region, giving it a unique geographical position that imparts distinct regional flavors to its coffee.
The high altitude causes the coffee cherries to mature more slowly, creating a unique microclimate that enhances the coffee's flavor profile. Due to the extended growth period, the coffee beans develop higher sucrose content, and with proper roasting, they produce a cup with rich and delightful fruity sweetness.
